From the 1-2-3 conjecture to the Riemann hypothesis

چکیده
This survey presents some combinatorial problems with number-theoretic flavor. Our journey starts from a simple graph coloring question, but at point gets close to dangerous territory of the Riemann Hypothesis. We will mostly focus on open problems, we also provide proofs, just for adorning.

chapter i provides an overview of structural linguistics and touches upon the saussurean dichotomies with the final goal of exploring their relevance to the stylistic studies of literature. to provide evidence for the singificance of the study, chapter ii deals with the controversial issue of linguistics and literature, and presents opposing views which, at the same time, have been central to t...

1 Acknowledgments I'm greatly thankful to William Stein, of course, not only for his patience and support while completing my thesis work, but especially for opening up so many opportunities for me to contribute to current research related to the topic of this paper. Thank you for including me in your correspondences with the " big players " in number theory. Thank you to Jim Morrow for his ass...
متن کاملExperimental Observations on the Riemann Hypothesis, and the Collatz Conjecture
This paper seeks to explore whether the Riemann hypothesis falls into a class of putatively unprovable mathematical conjectures, which arise as a result of unpredictable irregularity. It also seeks to provide an experimental basis to discover some of the mathematical enigmas surrounding these conjectures, by providing Matlab and C programs which the reader can use to explore and better understa...
متن کاملRefinements of Goldbach’s Conjecture, and the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis
Abstract: We present three remarks on Goldbach’s problem. First we suggest a refinement of Hardy and Littlewood’s conjecture for the number of representations of 2n as the sum of two primes positing an estimate with a very small error term. Next we show that if a strong form of Goldbach’s conjecture is true then every even integer is the sum of two primes from a rather sparse set of primes. Fin...
متن کاملThe Riemann Hypothesis, Volume 50, Number 3
H ilbert, in his 1900 address to the Paris International Congress of Mathematicians, listed the Riemann Hypothesis as one of his 23 problems for mathematicians of the twentieth century to work on. Now we find it is up to twenty-first century mathematicians! The Riemann Hypothesis (RH) has been around for more than 140 years, and yet now is arguably the most exciting time in its history to be wo...
